Breath Distention

Provides a non-invasive indication of the effort a subject requires to generate each breath.

Measurement Range (pulse rate 90 to 900 BPM)
0 to 800µm

Measurement Resolution
≤ 2.4% of measurement

Measurement Response Time
Breath Distention is updated every 1.7 seconds.

Pulse Distention

A measurement of the distention of the arterial blood vessels between the sensors due to a cardiac pulse. Provides a non-invasive indication of blood flow.

Measurement Range (pulse rate 90 to 900 BPM)
0 to 800µm

Measurement Resolution
≤ 2.4% of measurement

Measurement Response Time
Pulse Distention is reported to the user after each heartbeat. Every 0.72 seconds, the screen is refreshed to display all values measured since the previous screen refresh.

Breath Rate

Breath rate updated every few seconds (breaths per minute, BrPM).

Measurement Range (pulse rate 90 to 900 BPM)
25 to 450 BrPM

Measurement Response Time
Breath rate is reported to the user every 1.7 seconds. The value reported is the result of a moving average of the rate of breathing for the 10 previous breath rate measurements.
Note that all the screens still updates at the rate used for the other parameters (0.72 seconds), but new breath rate data is presented at the lower rate.

Pulse Rate (a.k.a. Heart Rate)

Real-time cardiac pulse rate (beats per minute, BPM).

Measurement Range
90 to 900 BPM

Measurement Response Time
Pulse rate is reported to the user after each heartbeat. Every 0.72 seconds, the screen is refreshed to display all values measured since the previous screen refresh.

Arterial Blood Oxygen Saturation

Real-time percent oxygen saturation of hemoglobin in the arterial blood

Measurement Range (pulse rate 90 to 900 BPM)
0 to 100% Arterial Blood Oxygen Saturation

Measurement Resolution
Resolution < 1.5% across entire range

Measurement Response Time
Oxygen Saturation is reported to the user after each heartbeat. Every 0.72 seconds the screen refreshed to display all values measured since the previous screen refresh.
